This review is long overdue. I was referred to SFCS by a friend and I’m so glad she did. I’ve had a few car issues in the past couple of years that the team has always helped to solve. One day, I dropped my key fob and all the buttons fell out. I thought I had reassembled it correctly but the car would not start. I thought my battery died and looked under the hood and a couple of the terminals were a bit corroded. Even after calling triple A and changing my battery, the car still would not start. Finally towed it to their shop and they told me they would try to figure out what was going on. Turns out, I had lost a security piece in the key fob that keeps my car from starting with any random key. They were able to work with Toyota to get some new keys and reprogram it to my car. While my car was there, I had also run over some plastic on the road a few weeks prior and they were able to clean it as much as they could. I was so impressed with how they were not only able to figure out the problem but also worked with Toyota to make sure it was programmed correctly. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago when my catalytic converter was stolen when my car was parked in front of my house. I immediately called SFCS and asked to get it towed there so they could fix it. I was ready to bite the bullet and pay for everything out of pocket. Bob was gracious enough to advise me to call my insurance to see if anything was covered. I called my insurance and they did in fact cover the cost minus my deductible and I would have a rental car for 30 days. I did a virtual estimation with my insurance and they were able to give me the initial paperwork while I got my car towed to the shop. Bob kept me posted everyday and broke the initial bad news that there was a long line and that a new catalytic converter would not be available until 3 months later! Insurance would not budge to extend my rental car coverage so I would be out of a car for 2 months. Bob was so gracious and told me to talk to Toyota and see if they would expedite my part if I took it to the dealership or even call one of my insurance recommended body shops and maybe they would cover a rental car. Unfortunately, no luck on both options but found it so refreshing that Bob was willing to give up my business just so I could do what was best for me. In the end, I ended up leaving my car at the shop and told Bob that I would make other arrangements (sharing my husband’s car, using work shuttle, etc). Fortunately, Bob called me a few days later and found that someone cancelled their order and we would move up in the list! My car would be ready in one more week, and I was so relieved. Bob also recommended that I put a cat shield but informed me that it would not be covered by insurance. Again, appreciated the honesty and I could tell they would be ok whether or not I chose to add the shield. My experience at this shop has been nothing but amazing and all the guys here are so genuinely helpful. The shop is a little out of the way for me between where I live and where I work but can’t imagine going anywhere else. They are so kind and patient and I’ll always be grateful for them always going above and beyond for me. Make sure you also pet Zander since he’s the shop mascot. Thank you, Bob, Matt & the rest of the awesome team!
