Sunnyvale Volkswagen Repair and Service
Volkswagen was established in 1939 when Adolf Hitler approached Ferdinand Porsche to build a car for the masses – the “Volks Wagen”.
Volkswagen of America was not created until 1955, although Volkswagens were sold in the U.S. since 1949 (though in its debut year only two units were sold). The “Type 1”, what came to be known as the “Beetle” today, was very popular with the U.S. public. At Sunnyvale Foreign car we continue to repair Volkswagen automobiles to dealership standards.
Volkswagen had a brief production period in the United States, which lasted from 1978 to 1988. The factory, located in Pennsylvania, closed and until recently there were no plans to open another. VW has talked about plans to open a new U.S. factory in 2011. Technology has vastly changed from the Beetle to the VW’s of today, and it was with the merge of Audi in 1964 that VW now produced popular models such as the Passat, Jetta, Golf and even its newly revived Beetle (of course now called the New Beetle). With newer technology, you need to make sure that you have certified technicians that can complete your Volkswagen auto repair.
Now VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) produces a wide variety of models and even ventured into the SUV market with the introduction of the Touareg in 2003. Other models include the Mini Van Routan and recently updated diesel models of the Jetta.
